Dvar Halacha On Parshat Tzav 03 17 2013

The beginning of Parshas Tzav discusses the burning of the fats and limbs of the karbanos. Although no karbanos can be brought at night, the burning of the fats and limbs is permitted the entire night. Chaza”l established the halachah that one can daven Maariv the entire night based on the fats and limbs. Nevertheless, in order that one should not come to forget, they enacted an additional decree that one must say Kiras Shma before midnight.
