Second Section – the Negative Commandments

117. & 118. It is a negative commandment for a man or woman to have relations with an animal

As it states in Vayikra (Leviticus) 18:23, “and you shall not lie with any animal.”

It is a negative commandment for a woman “do not allow an animal to have relations with her, in a natural way or unnatural way.”

As it states in Vayikra 18:23, “a woman shall not stand in front of an animal to have relations with it.” There is no difference if the animal is old or young; the law is the same for an animal and bird. The person and animal both receive the death penalty of stoning, the very moment the act is begun. If there was no warning, the person receives spiritual excommunication and the animal gets the death penalty of stoning. If it was done in error, the person brings a sin-offering and the animal is let off free.

This applies in all places and at all times.
