Negative Commandment #180

Sefer Ha’mitzvos Ha’Katzar (The concise book of mitzvos) By the Chofetz Chaim

This book lists the Torah mitzvos that can be observed today

Second Section – the Negative Commandments

180. It is a negative commandment “do not plow with an ox and a donkey together”

As it states in Devarim (Deuteronomy) 22:10, “do not plow with an ox and a donkey together.” This applies to any work that is done with two animals when one is pure and the other is impure, even if he made them move by commands with his voice, he is given lashes. If a person pairs them together, he is exempt, until he pulls or leads them. Even if a hundred people pulled or led the animals together, or they sat on the wagon which was pulled by these animals, all of the people are given lashes.

This applies in all places and at all times, for men and for women.
