Negative Commandment #5

Sefer Ha’mitzvos Ha’Katzar (The concise book of mitzvos) By the Chofetz Chaim

This book lists the Torah mitzvos that can be observed today

Second Section – the Negative Commandments

5. It is a negative commandment not to eat any type of mixture with chametz (leavened bread) on Passover

As it states in Shemos (Exodus) 12:20, “All mixtures with chametz you shall not eat.” This includes items that are mixed with a food of its own kind and items mixed with a food not of its own kind. If there is an amount the size of an olive that can be eaten in the amount of time it normally takes to eat a half loaf of bread, this prohibition is transgressed, but there is no punishment of kares (premature death). If there is not an amount the size of an olive that can be eaten in the amount of time it normally takes to eat a half loaf of bread, the transgressor receives Rabbinic lashes.

This applies in all places and at all times, for men and for women.
