Second Section – the Negative Commandments

61. It is a negative commandment “do not withhold a pledge object from its owner at a time he needs it”

As it states in Devarim (Deuteronomy) 24:12, “you shall not sleep with his pledge.” This means, do not go to sleep when the pledge is still in your possession. (see Positive Commandment #63)

This applies in all places and at all times, for men and for women.
