Negative Commandment #67

Sefer Ha’mitzvos Ha’Katzar (The concise book of mitzvos) By the Chofetz Chaim

This book lists the Torah mitzvos that can be observed today

Second Section – the Negative Commandments

67. It is a negative commandment for a judge “do not pervert justice against a sinner because of his wickedness”

As it states in Shemos (Exodus) 23:6, “you shall not pervert justice of a poor person in his argument.” The meaning of the words “poor person” in this context is ‘he who is poor in his performance of the commandments.’

This applies in all places and at all times, for men and for women.
