Sefer Ha’mitzvos Ha’Katzar (The concise book of mitzvos) By the Chofetz Chaim

This book lists the Torah mitzvos that can be observed today

Second Section – the Negative Commandments

70. It is a negative commandment “do not show favor to a great man in court.”

As it states in Vayikra (Leviticus) 19:15, “do not show favor to a great man.” This means that if a great man and a man of lesser importance come into a court, do not show favor to the greater man. The judge should not turn his face towards him nor greet him more than the other person.

This applies in all places and at all times.
